Neighborhood House programs provide services to families and children, strengthening their skills and knowledge and connecting them with community resources; supports families in their pursuit of economic sufficiency, life skills, and community connection; uses an asset-based approach to help young people discover and develop their natural gifts and talents, so that they can grow as individuals a nd as valued members of their community; and provides a continuum of activities that build individual and community assets; encourages and provides opportunities for civic engagement; and enhances the responsiveness, inclusiveness, and cultural competence of mainstream organizations and systems.
