BEACH BUM DAZE with Johnny Russler and the Beach Bum Band...and more!
$700 was raised for the Minnesota Zoo's World of Birds program....
and Coconut, our sulphur crested cockatoo.

St MinneSomePlace's third annual BBD phlocking again offered a great night of Buffett Beach Bum music and dancin', as well as tail-gating and a Zydecomobile Vehicle Decoration contest!  Clearly, we need more fruitcakes in this world!  Especially, if they are like the phlockers who showed up for this great annual event.  Even the World of Birds showed up with a few of our favorite feathered friends....alas, no Coconut though as he apparently prefers the friendly confines of his aviary harem, plus he would probably fly next door to the bar anyway!  Check out the evidence below of beer, boats, birds, and beach bums! photos provided by Rob Winters and Tracy Campbell.

Take It Out At the Saints Game
July 29
Parrot Heads 6 - 0
Home runs were hit by everyone at the Saints Game.   Ol' Joe Bones was the winning hit!
The Parrot Heads won again and after our sixth annual tailgating phlocking we are now 6 - 0!
The Tiki bench was full and not just to watch but to participate in one of the best ways
to spend another Saturday afternoon - tailgating with all your Parrot Head friends!
Not quite the world series of Parrot Headonism but a great past-time, for sure!
See ya next season!

To educate the rookies on the ST MSP team, the above photos illustrates the origination of the phlocking name   Originally, it was more of a caper.  It all began on a dark and stormy afternoon, as you can see from the background sky.  The event was promoted by the Saints as "Mardis Gras" day.  Apparently, we had our Parrot Head interest at heart when the Parrot Head krewe at the time was thinking beads and other Mardis Gras traditions.  We soon learned the management's expectations as we lined up for the parade, positioned last, behind the preschoolers in pink bunny costumes.  The scalywag in Jamaican drag was warned not to reveal anything other than dreadlocks.  What an inspiration!  As we paraded around third base, the same scalywag had to show the anonymous third baseman the best features.  From that day forward, the phlocking was then known as "Take It Out at the Ballgame" with the Saints!  And a tradition was born!  Thus endeth the history lesson!
