Jimmy Offers a License to Chill!
The License to Chill privilege was eagerly honored by over 20,000 Parrot Heads on Thursday afternoon and evening, May 20. Downtown St MinneSomePlace was transitioned from the NBA playoffs the previous evening to just plain playing around. Tents were in place to fend off the frequent rain showers of the week but were mostly unnecessary as Buffett provided his usually weather relief. The weather is here!   In his absence during the day, bands were on stage and O’Donovan’s was another great oasis for the crazy inhabitants of our island. Stars on the Water were once again the tropical magnet and entertainment that gave us the excuse to quit work early and phlock. The Beach Bum Band anchored the Rosen tent, sponsored by KQRS, who is widely known as owning only one Jimmy Buffett song. Where is Radio Margaritaville? Steve Huntington, if you can broadcast from backstage, you could certainly come out and meet the fans! It only seems fitting!  Margaritaville Shrimp thought it was worthwhile!  Meanwhile, the excitement grew as Parrot Heads eventually filled the streets and crawled the 1st Ave crawl. Buffett hit the stage at 8pm and it flowed from there! The set list was outstanding and Buffett, once again, put on his best performance ever! What else can you expect when the best three days of the week were on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday! It’s a Buffett thing!
