St. MinneSomePlace was founded upon the principles of having fun and giving back something to the community, whether it might be monetary contributions or volunteer efforts, all while sustaining a positive image for its members, St MinneSomePlace and Jimmy Buffett. This originated from an idea Scott Nickerson, the founder of the national organization, Parrot Head’s in Paradise, had when he organized the original interactive forum for loyal Parrot Heads. This mirrored the attitude that Jimmy shares with the world through his music and books and by his example of community spirit like the now familiar Save the Manatee Foundation and Friends of Florida. Each month, activities and phlockings are organized in celebration of all things Buffett, including our biggest annual event held each spring: This Hotel Room phlocking. Business meetings are held each month to discuss and plan these events. St MinneSomePlace is committed to having fun and simultaneously helping community interests. The diverse background of each of its members helps it become stronger in its pursuits. Through the voluntary efforts of these members, the objectives of the club can be met with pride and enjoyment. Since November 1994, St MinneSomePlace has been incorporated in the State of Minnesota as a not-for-profit social organization. Any proceeds are donated to a community agency of choice. All total, St MSP has contributed over $100,000 to over 40 local charitble organizations.
