St MinneSomePlace In Paradise
Arc Hennepin-Carver/People First Arc's mission is to secure for all people with mental retardation and related developmental disabilities and their families the opportunity to choose and realize their goals of where and how they live, learn, work and play. Arc can be contacted at: 952-920-0855. Arc Hennepin-Carver's logo reflects its mission. The three people figures represent all ages and their arms are stretched upward to depict the joy, enthusiasm and positive spirit of children and adults who are realizing opportunities to choose how they live, learn, work and play. The palette design behind them reflects the array of services and programs available through Arc. And the slim white arc between the two palettes represents Arc's role in building connections, helping people navigate services so they can live lives fulfilled. People First Central and South Suburban are sponsored by Arc Hennepin-Carver as part of an international self-advocacy and self-help organization of people who have disabilities. Through monthly meetings, members are learning how to speak for themselves and make decisions about what they want to do with their lives. Self-help means members help each other solve problems, make friends and reach out to others with disabilities. St. MinneSomePlace raised $5000 for Arc in 2003.
