ALPINE VALLEY, August 24
The Three Celestial Sistas from the Far Side of the Universe appeared on stage with Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band at Alpine Valley, Aug 24, 2002.  Namely, Bev Schmitz, Brenda Olson and Bernice Botzet came up with the idea to participate in the national Hokey Pokey dance competition sponsored by the Far Side of the World tour.  While they did not win the contest, sometime during the event, Buffett noticed the attractively costumed aliens and asked his people to find them and bring them on stage too!  And that's the way it goes on the Far Side of the World!  Congratulations to Bev, Brenda and Bernice for their love and luck!

Chains (Steve Tonner), Soulman (Steve Bruns) and Pam Reinhardt (still looking for an appropriate moniker) ran their ponies (Harleys) to the shore (Gulf of Mexico) on their way to help JJW (Gypsy Song Man) celebrate his 61st birthday (bash).  Unfortunately, the special musical guest this year was not JB (Marvin Gardens), as was the case last year. Fortunately, Soulman met JJW during the sound check at the legendary Broken Spoke Bar (saloon) in Austin (TX).  Chains had a "situation" and missed the chance meeting and photo op.  A good time (headache) was had by all.
